What is the Come, Lord Jesus! program?
The Come, Lord Jesus! program is a program committed to forming small Catholic faith communities. The program follows a well-defined balanced structure for spiritual formation based on the recommendations of the Second Vatican Council. It centers around four basic elements-PRAYER, SCRIPTURE, EUCHARIST AND CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY-elements inspired by the Holy Spirit and practiced in the early Church (Acts2: 42). The primary mission of the program is to help members to be transformed into the very image of Christ, who is Love.
The Come, Lord Jesus! program has a simple format that assures successful implementation by the laity. The Scripture study portion of the meeting uses the selections of Scripture to be read at the upcoming Sunday Mass, with the results of not only greatly enhancing appreciation for the Word of God, but also enriching the entire Eucharistic Celebration.
The program has experienced steady growth since its inception in 1974 and has received enthusiastic recommendations and endorsements from numerous priests and bishops.
What is LIGHT FROM LIGHT?
LIGHT FROM LIGHT is a new series recently completed by Father Conley Bertrand, Founder of the Come, Lord Jesus! program. It is designed for weekly use and helps Catholics more fruitfully prepare for the celebration of the Sunday Liturgy.
LIGHT FROM LIGHT is the perfect way to bring families or individuals together in a small group setting in order to prepare for the celebration of the Eucharist.
LIGHT FROM LIGHT is designed for easy facilitation by almost anyone without special training.
LIGHT FROM LIGHT provides weekly reflection on the Gospel of the upcoming Sunday. It also includes praying with Psalms, on the Word of God and on the Eucharist.
LIGHT FROM LIGHT contains a Scriptural Examen as part of the weekly format. This helps participants to apply the Word of God in their own lives.
Many people of all ages have found LIGHT FROM LIGHT to be effective in helping them to grow in understanding of Holy Scripture, knowledge of their faith and love of the Eucharist. LIGHT FROM LIGHT is being used in schools, Parish CCD programs, families and by groups of individuals in the workplace and in homes.
